We have the capacity to investigate undifferentiated presentations that cannot be easily fitted within the expertise of a specialist that treats one organ, such as dyspnea, fatigue, weight loss, weight gain, chest pain, confusion or change in consciousness.

We have the capacity to manage serious acute illnesses that affect multiple organ systems at the same time in a single patient, and we can manage multiple chronic diseases or “comorbidities” that a single patient may have. We have been trained to care for patients with multiple simultaneous problems or complex comorbidities.
